1. What types of vehicles does Blackwell Automotive work on?

We specialize in Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Honda, and Acura vehicles, both new and high-mileage. We do not service European brands like BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes, or Land/Rover etc.


2. Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

No appointment is needed—services are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Just stop by whenever we're open, and we’ll get you taken care of as soon as a bay is available.


3. Where are you located and what are your hours?

We’re at 71 Eastgate Loop, Chattanooga, TN 37411—just off Eastgate Mall.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Closed on weekends and major holidays.


4. What services do you offer?

  • General repairs & diagnostics (check engine lights, electrical, belts, hoses, oil leaks)
  • Routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluid exchanges, tire rotation/balancing)
  • Brakes, cooling systems, steering, suspension, A/C, batteries
    Every job is backed by a
    1‑year/12,000‑mile warranty on parts and labor


5. Do you honor manufacturer warranties?

We can perform all routine maintenance and the customer's warranty will remain intact. Actual warranty repairs must be completed at the dealer.


6. Can I have my car serviced at Blackwell Automotive while it is still under warranty?

Yes. All recommended factory services are completed per Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Infiniti schedules—without needless add‑ons—so your original warranty stays intact.


7. Do you offer estimates before doing work?

Yes. We provide clear, detailed estimates before any work begins, so you’ll never face surprises—and we only fix what needs fixing.


8. What should I expect while I wait?

We provide a warm and pleasant atmosphere with 2 cozy lounges, one with a television and the other quiet lounge for reading or working. Our lounges include free: Wi‑Fi, coffee/hot cocoa bar, soft drinks and snacks, EPB cable TV, magazines, comfy seating, computer workstations, plus a shaded outdoor area and picnic tables.


9. Are your rates competitive with the dealership?

Yes. By focusing on select import brands, we offer dealership-level service at independent-shop prices, with transparent processes.


10. How long have you been in business?

Blackwell Automotive is a family-owned shop founded in 2004 by Richard and Richmond Blackwell. Over the years we’ve expanded—from 3 bays to 28 bays, making us one of Chattanooga’s largest independent repair facilities.


11. Does Blackwell Automotive  support the community?

Yes, we’re active locally—partnering with First Priority, Pathways, Friends of Special Children, Chattanooga Firefighters, Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers. Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, Alton Park Church of Christ Daycare (selling preserves in Nov–Dec each year), and supporting many other charities as well. 12. Is Blackwell Automotive a chain?

No. Blackwell Automotive in Chattanooga is independent and not affiliated with any other Blackwell Automotive or business with a similar name.


13. Does Blackwell Automotive work on hybrids?

Yes, As long as it is with a brand we specialize in.
